To send a clear warning to Emmanuel Macron, the President of the European Commission said that the French Government is spending too much and in the wrong way.

But the commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs is optimistic about the country’s ability to bring spending in line with EU rules and cutting its deficit.

The system has been in place since September 2015, but these two member-states consider it illegal and though they have not received a single refugee.
