EU delays weed-killer vote
By Euronews

EU officials have delayed a vote on whether to grant a new licence to a controversial weedkiller.
Experts on both sides of the Atlantic are divided as to whether glyphosate causes cancer.
An EU committee had been widely tipped to the herbicide’s current licence, which expires at the end of June.
But the European Commission decided to delay the vote after it became clear there was not enough support to pass the measure.
A number of petitions have appeared online calling for glyphosate to be suspended until it is proven to be safe.
One such petition has attracted 1.4 million signatures.
