Prompted by the recent deaths of 21 tourists in an attack on a museum in Tunis, EU Council President Donald Tusk travelled to Tunisia on Tuesday for security talks.

He met the country’s leaders before visiting the scene of the March 18th assault.
After his meetings, Tusk told reporters that they’d discussed “how we can – together – address some of the root causes of instability, but also how we can – together – help to tackle some of the most critical consequences of this regional instability, like the rise of terrorism and irregular migration.”
Earlier this month Tusk warned that Tunisia could become the next target for the Islamic State militant group. He said the country needed “special protection” from the EU.
ISIL claimed responsibility for the Tunis attack which has led to a 60 percent fall in tourist reservations from France over the past two weeks.
Tunisia and neighbouring Libya alsoi continue to be major migration routes used to reach European shores.
