A few days after the clashes on the cease-fire line between Syria and Israel, calm seems to have returned to Majdal Shams. This is in the Golan Heights, Syrian territory which has been under Israeli control since 1967. The aspirations of the communities that have been living together here for forty years in some ways both overlap and diverge.
