Ivanna Lisette Ortiz allegedly fired 10 shots with a semiautomatic firearm into Rihanna’s Beverly Hills home, while the pop superstar and her family were inside. She could get life in prison if convicted on all charges.
A 35-year-old Florida woman has been charged with attempted murder after she allegedly fired shots at the Beverly Hills home of American superstar Rihanna on Sunday.
Ivanna Lisette Ortiz has been charged with one count of attempted murder, 10 counts of assault on a person with a semiautomatic firearm and three counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling. All 14 counts against her are felonies.
Officials have said no one was injured during the shooting, even if Los Angeles district attorney Nathan Hochman said Rihanna, her partner A$AP Rocky, their three children, and Rihanna’s mother were at the property at the time of the shooting.
The motive for the shooting remains unclear.
Public records show Ortiz’s most recent address was in Orlando and that she has been a licensed speech pathologist for more than a decade.
Her arraignment was postponed until 25 March, and she was ordered to be held in jail on $1.8m bail. She could get life in prison if convicted on all charges.
