Polanski’s ‘True Story’

Roman Polanski brought his latest film to the Swiss festival. It’s been eight years since he was last in the city. On that occasion, he was detained under a US arrest warrant for the suspected rape of a thirteen-year-old girl in 1977. After several months’ detention, it was decided not to extradite him.

Fresh rape allegations dating to an alleged incident in 1972 are now being investigated by Swiss police.

Polanski’s latest offering, called ‘Based On A True Story’, is a French-language psychological thriller about a writer and her obsessive admirer.
