European commissioner for regional policy, Corina Creţu, tells us how cohesion policy funds can help make the wheels of European economy heat up and spin.
Guillaume Desjardins, Euronews: So Commissioner Creţu, thank you very much, it has become a tradition in our show, we ask our guests to bring an object to represent the topic. What have you brought to us to talk about cohesion policy ?
Corina Creţu, European Commissioner, Regional Policy: Thank you very much, it was very interesting for me to find a metaphor for cohesion policy and i've brought this candle. I feel it represents cohesion policy and all the metallic structure is moving because of cohesion policy. In my view, this is Europe, which benefits a lot from this engine which is cohesion policy. The policy is the most important investment tool in innovation, in everything: education, infrastructure. Without cohesion policy, i cannot imagine the European union turning like this.
