Stocks in the Asia-Pacific region got off to a solid start on Thursday morning after global markets started to regain their footing.

A sharp rebound on Wall Street helped calm investors’ nerves after a share rout fueled by concerns about Chinese growth.

The Shanghai Composite Index ,China’s benchmark, even managed an initial 1.7% high
higher after crashing to a 23% loss over the past five sessions.
