A profit warning from Nokia caused its share price to plunge 14.5 percent on Wednesday.
The Finnish mobile phone giant said it now expects to post losses in the first two quarters of this year.
The warning came after it discovered a costly software bug in the Lumia 900, the smartphone with which it was planning to recapture US market share.
