The nearly 150-year-old US-based NGO is involved in the rescue, care and protection of animals worldwide, supporting the conservation of endangered species.

"We look forward to receiving nominations for the next Wolfgang Kiessling International Species Conservation Award and to continuing to honour Wolfgang Kiessling's legacy through this award," said Robin Ganzert, president and CEO of Global Humane Society. "This award honours inspiring conservationists around the world who are doing heroic work to protect our planet and its diverse wildlife."

Wolfgang Kiessling, President of Loro Parque, stated: "Over the years, we have had the privilege of recognising exceptional professionals whose commitment proves that international cooperation and research are essential tools to halt biodiversity loss. At Loro Parque and the Loro Parque Foundation, we remain fully committed to conservation, science and animal welfare".
