Clashes broke out between police and opposition supporters in Tirana as protesters demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Violence erupted in Tirana as opposition supporters clashed with police during an anti-government protest targeting Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Demonstrators hurled Molotov cocktails, flares and fireworks toward the government building housing the prime minister’s office, while police responded with water cannons and tear gas.

Explosions and flames were seen near security forces deployed around the site and near parliament.

According to police, at least 16 officers were injured during the unrest.
