Frankfurt's main railway station has reopened after a police operation investigated suspected bank robbery.

Frankfurt's main railway station was reopened on Friday after police closed it while investigating reports of an apparent a bank robbery.

Police said suspects fired at officers during the operation.

Three people were later arrested.

Germany's rail operator Deutsche Bahn said on Twitter: "The closure of Frankfurt main station has been lifted, train traffic is resuming."
