Two more jailed Catalan separatist leaders have joined a hunger strike started by their companions on Saturday.

The arrested leaders Josep Rull and Joaquim Forn, released a statement on Monday saying they would join the hunger strike started by Jordi Sanchez and Jordi Turull two days ago.

“We also voluntarily renounce food intake as of 8:00 p.m. on Monday,” the men said.

The leaders are protesting against the Spanish courts failure to process numerous appeals for their cases as they await trial.
