Baby boy 'Miracle' born on migrant rescue ship Aquarius

A baby boy has been born on board a rescue ship in the Mediterranean. The mother decided to name him 'Miracle'. Almost 2,000 migrants have been rescued by aid agencies and the Italian coastguard and Navy in recent days. Boats have been taking them to the Port of Augusta in Sicily.

There have been reports of clashes between migrants and the Libyan Coast Guard in North Africa. There have also been reports of migrants being shot dead by people smugglers. Libya has become a key point on the route of African migrants trying to reach Europe by sea.
