Wife of Prince William, the second-in-line to the British throne, is expecting her third child.

The Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a baby boy, Kensington Palace has announced.

He weighs 3.8 kilos and mother and baby are doing well, the Palace said.

The new Prince will be fifth in line to the throne and is born on St George’s Day - the English national day.

It is William and Kate’s third child.

The Palace said that the name of the baby will be announced in due course.

The Duchess of Cambridge was admitted to hospital in the early hours of Monday morning.
