On day two of the Paris Judo Grand Slam our man of the day was Japan's Mukai Shoichiro.

In the under 90kg final he faced World Masters Champion Beka Gviniashvili.

Making his Grand Slam final debut Shoichiro stunned the judo world by defeating the Georgian by ippon.

Beautiful Judo from Mukai, showing his class as an athlete ... and his sportmanship in helping is opponent off the tatami.

Axel Clerget delighted the Paris crowd by defeating Mukai's teamate Nagasawa Kent a with a fantastic armlock.

Four-time world and double Olympic Champion David Douillet, a former French sports minister, was on hand with the medals.

"I am representing Japan," said Shoichiro after being awarded his medal, "so I felt the need to set an example by showing sportsmanship after the bout. It was my natural reaction to do this."

Our woman of the day was Great Britain's Sally Conway who defeated the World Champion Arai Chizuru of Japan in the under 70 kilogram final.

She showed you can never take your eye of the ball in the sport of judo, as she turned defence into attack, narrowly avoiding a score before turning the tables on Arai by securing a pin.

After 20 seconds she became the first British woman to win the Paris Grand Slam since her coach Kate Howey.

In the under 81 kilogram, final Fujiwara Sotaro secureed another gold for Japan with a stunning uchimata ippon against Korea's Lee Seung-su.

Kageura Kokoro got Japan their third gold of the day against Korea's Kim Sung Min in the final of the over 100 kilograms.

By feinting forwards he duped Kim before attacking backwards, flattening his opponent with a sublime ippon.

The crowd were once again on their feet as home favourite Audrey Tcheumeo took under 78 kilogram gold.

Awarding the gold medal was Ruslan Uspaev, Chairman of the Board of SMP Group.

Our move of the day comes from France's Cyrille Maret with this cracking ippon against Peter Paltchik of Israel.
