Israeli missiles are said to have struck a military post near Damascus.

Syrian state television reported that Syria’s air defence system responded, destroying two of the projectiles.

According to war monitoring group the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, loud explosions were heard when al-Kiswa town, south of the capital, was struck.

An arms depot is said to have been hit.

The Israeli Air Force claims to have successfully targeted Syrian military and Hezbollah arms convoys almost 100 times in the more-than six-year-long civil war.
