The watchmaking world got together again this year in Geneva to see who the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) international jury voted best in their field.

The prize-winners at the 17th GPHG were revealed this Wednesday, November 8, on stage at Geneva’s Théâtre du Léman.

The jury, which included collectors, designers, authors, journalists and watchmakers, handed out 16 prizes and awarded the “Aiguille d’Or” Grand Prix to Chopard for the L.U.C Full Strike Watch.

The watch is Chopard’s first ever minute repeater. It has a 42.5 mm diameter, the timepiece has a rose gold case with an open-worked dial, housing an impressive number of technical solutions.

The Chopard Manufacture worked on the piece for more than six years.

We’ve made a selection of this year’s trending watches, chosen from the 72 competing watches and 15 prize-winning models.

These timepieces are still on show at the Musée d’Art et d’Histoire in Geneva (MAH) until November 12 as part of an original exhibition dedicated to the contemporary art of watchmaking.

The winners will also be exhibited from November 16 to 20 at the third Dubai Watch Week.
