Cyber criminals claim to have the script of an upcoming episode of the hit show among other stolen data

Hackers claim to have stolen the script of an unaired episode of hit fantasy show ‘Game of Thrones’, calling it the ‘greatest leak’ of the ‘cyber space era’.

The criminals say they have already posted new episodes of other shows by entertainment giant HBO online.

Cyber security experts fear that it is the tip of the iceberg.

“I think that what we are seeing is in the early stages and it’s quite possible that we are going to see a lot more information coming out, given the size of what it is,“said Alan W. Silberberg, founder and CEO of the Digijaks company.

“It’s hard to believe that we are just talking about one or two or three even TV shows.

“What we are talking about is a huge amount of information that is out there somewhere. Whether it’s going to be released or they are going to negotiate some way to get it back, no-one knows yet.”

HBO, a unit of Time-Warner Inc, has confirmed it suffered a ‘cyber incident’ but won’t comment on hackers’ claims to have 1.5 terabytes of data including the ‘Games of Thrones’ material.

The show is now in its seventh season and due to wrap up next year.
