Families and friends of the victims of the attack on the Resorts World complex in Manila, along with members of the public,
have been laying flowers and lighting candles at the spot where at least 36 people died.

There was little peace for the mourners, as they stood silently heads bowed while the noise of electric saws and drills
being used for the clean-up filled the air.

Families have been heading to funeral homes in the Philippine capital where the bodies of the victims, none of whom
suffered gunshot wounds, have been taken. Some victims had suffered bad burns, but it is believed all suffocated
in the thick smoke from the fires started by the lone gunman.

The Resort World organisation has promised it will offer every assistance to the victims’ families.
