Nine-times world motorcycling champion Valentino Rossi has been hopitalised with minor liver and kidney injures following a motocross accident.

The 38-year-old’s crash was not descibed as serious and nothing is broken, but he stayed in hospital overnight for observations.

Rossi is thought by many to be the greatest rider of all time and was leading the current MotoGP championship until last weekend, when he lost the lead after crashing in the French Grand Prix.
