Ajax beat Lyon 4-1 in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final, but will the French side's away goal prove crucial when the two sides meet again in France?

Ajax exploited their home advantage to the full in the first leg of their semi-final against Lyon, putting four past the French side in a match that wasn’t short of entertainment value.

Bertrand Traore, the striker currently on loan from Chelsea, opened and closed the scoring for the Dutch side, capitalising on some sloppy defending from Lyon, who were not short of chances themselves.

But for some less than clinical finishing from both sides, the game could quite easily have seen more goals scored.

Mathieu Valbuena netted Lyon’s only goal of the evening – an away score which could play an important part in the second leg in France.

German winger Amin Younes and Danish teenager Kasper Dolberg added to Traore’s tally for Ajax.

On Thursday Celta Vigo will host Manchester United in their semi-final first leg.
