The Europa League gets down to the last eight sides, and Man United is one of them.
Manchester United could only put one goal past Rostov but that was enough to give them their latest Europa League tie 2-1. Juan Mata scored in the 70th minute after United toiled to break down the stubborn Russians.
Roma reversed their fortunes against Lyon by using home advantage and pocketing the win, but 2-1 wasn’t enough to deny the French side passage to the quarter-finals.
Anderlecht made it two wins in a row against v Apoel Nicosia, both by a single goal, but more than enough to go through 2-0.
Ajax won the battle in the north, beating Copenhagen 3-2.
Borussia Munchengladbach v Shalke saw both German teams tied up at three goals apiece after the whistle blew. Shalke go though on the away goals rule.
Besiktas v Olympiakos fought out a one-all draw, but thanks to their thumping first-leg win it’s the Turks whose competition continues, and the Greeks going home.
Finally Krasnodar v Celta Vigo saw the Spaniards go through, again scoring twice against Krasnodar, while Genk v Ghent could only draw, sending Racing Genk into the quarters.
