Britain’s Duke and Duchess of Cambridge treated their young family to a play day on Thursday, on their official visit to Canada.

The word ‘Pop!’ was the first public utterance of Princess Charlotte, catching sight of balloons at the outdoor event for military families in Victoria, British Columbia.

Stealing the show with her big brother Prince George, who is three, 16 month old Charlotte also made history with her first public walkabout.

Britain’s Prince William and his wife, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, are on a week-long trip to Canada. It is the first time the couple have brought their children on an official visit to the country.

But it is not the first time on the tour that the children have been the centre of media attention.

On Saturday Prince George made headlines when he ignored Prime Minister Justin Trudeau who was offering him a high-five and a handshake.
