Members of staff were evacuated and some studios and equipment were seriously damaged in the blaze, but there are no reports of injuries.

Local media reported around 20 people were protesting outside the building and had set fire to tyres.

Scuffles broke out as several demonstrators were detained by the police.

Inter TV is seen by many in Ukraine as having a pro-Russian bias.
