The first Iranian woman to win an Olympic medal is eighteen-year-old Kimia Alizadeh Zenoorin in Taekwondo who beat her Swedish opponent to take the bronze.

Zenoorin won the Youth Olympics two years ago, and took the bronze medal at last year’s world championships.

The Iranian Olympians have so far won five medals in the Rio games.
