The Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Games’ organising committee have officially unveiled the mascots for the next Olympic and Paralympic games, “Soohorang” and “Bandabi”.

Inspired by the white tiger and Asian black bear, the pair were introduced to students of Hoeng Gye elementary school at a launching ceremony.

Traditionally, the white tiger is believed to be a sacred guardian animal in the country while the bear represents courage and strong willpower

The Pyeongchang Games will kick-off on February 9, 2018.
