That’s one of the most pressing questions for Swedes, according to Google search data.

Johnson, a leading Brexit campaigner, was a surprise inclusion in Theresa May’s new cabinet, as foreign secretary.

The appointment of Johnson, who has made a series of diplomatic gaffes and angered pro-Europeans by helping secure Britain’s exit from the EU, prompted attacks from senior politicians in France, Germany and Sweden.

Since his unveiling most web users in countries such as France, Germany and the Netherlands simply wanted to know who he was and more about him.

But it was online searchers in Sweden who asked some of the strangest questions, including the second most popular: Is Boris Johnson a clown? They also seemingly expressed their incredulity at his hiring. The fifth most popular question searched was: How could May appoint Johnson?
