Portugal tuned up nicely for the European Championship that begin on Friday after thrashing Estonia 7-0 in their final friendly before Euro 2016.

It took Portugal 36 minutes to get going, but when they did there was no stopping them.

Cristiano Ronaldo headed home the first of his two on the night following an inch-perfect cross from Ricardo Quaresma, who in turn put himself on the scoresheet in fine fashion three minutes later – a delightful curling lob over keeper Pavel Londak lifting the scoreline to 2-0.

Ronaldo capped off his 45-minute display with miscued effort handing Fernando Santos’ men a 3-0 lead at the break.

Quaresma was a constant threat all night and created the fourth.

His perfectly weighted corner ten minutes into the second half was met by Danilo Pereira who made no mistake to head home his first international goal.

Quaresma was at the source of an own goal by Karol Mets just after the hour mark before scoring his second on the night on 77 minutes.

Eder meanwhile completed the 7-0 rout ten minutes from time as Portugal gave themselves the ideal morale boost for France.

At the European Championship Portugal are in Group F alongside Iceland, Austria and Hungary.

Their first match is against Iceland on June 14 at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard in Saint-Étienne.
