Authorities in Russia say former press minister Mikhail Lesin died of blunt force injuries to the head.

He was found dead inside a hotel room last year in Washington.

Lesin once headed the state-controlled Gazprom Media.

An investigation is underway to establish a motive for the apparent attack.
