Euronews spoke at Berlin’s ITB to Domingo Ramon C. Enerio III, President of the Tourism Promotions Board in the Philippines, about how 2015 turned out to be the most successful year for tourism in the country so far.

2015 ended with a 10.9 percent increase in our total tourist arrival so for the very first time in our history we’ve reached the five million mark. We had 5.36 million foreign visitors in 2015, which is the first time we have done this in our history. In terms of domestic tourism the account is about 55 million Filipinos travelled all over the country and created a lot of impact on our tourism revenues, which are around 5 billion US dollars just for foreign tourists and we are happy to report that tourism has been a strong employer in our country. 5 million jobs are created because of tourism.
