Gunmen have stormed Bacha Khan University in Charsadda, northwestern Pakistan and opened fire on students and teachers.

Several explosions have been heard.

At least two gunman were killed as police moved into the university and began firing at the attackers.

Other attackers are still said to be at large although the authorities said most students had been evacuated.
