Didier Drogba arrived at Trudeau International airport in Canada to a heroes welcome ahead of completing his move to MLS side Montreal Impact.

The former Ivory coast and Chelsea striker who was mobbed by hundreds of fans – is the latest star player to join the North American league including Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard.

The Chelsea legend played 381 times for the Stamford Bridge outfit across two stints – winning four Premier League titles and the Champions League.

The Chicago Fire club owned Drogba’s MLS rights, but traded him to Montreal.

He is set to sign a reported 18 month contract worth 3 million dollars.
