The crackdown on armed groups operating within Turkey’s borders comes alongside air strikes on Syria and Iraq.

Hundreds arrested

Media reports suggest more than 800 have been taken into custody in the last week.

Hundreds of officers have swept through parts of the capital, Ankara.

15 people suspected of links to IS have been arrested. 11 are foreign nationals.

19 people alleged to be connected to the PKK have been arrested in the south-eastern city of Adiyaman.
