The event sees around 2,700 riders descend on mountain bikes from the summit of Pic Blanc at an altitude of 3,300 m all the way down to the lush meadows of the valley below at Allemont, a drop of over 2,000m.
Top competitors take less than an hour to complete the 32km course.
