The Catalans got off to a strong start and put their opponents under pressure with Croatian international Ivan Rakitic opening the scoring from close range in the fourth minute.

Luis Enrique’s men then pushed but were caught on the break just after the interval thanks to former Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata.

Uruguay striker Luis Suarez, who had been struggling with a hamstring injury in recent weeks, beat Gianluigi Buffon in the 68th minute to put Barcelona in front for his 25th goal of the season.

Juventus created a few chances in the dying moments but it wasn’t to be as Brazilian international Neymar eventually sealed the win with the last kick of the game.

This result sees Barcelona secure their fourth Champions League title in ten years while becoming the first side to win the domestic and European treble twice.
