Thousands of protesters have taken to the streets in Romania to vent their anger over deforestation.

They demonstrated in Bucharest, Cluj, Iasi, Timisoara, Oradea, Brasov and Miercurea-Ciuc over the loss of forest areas.
They called on the authorities to take action.
The president and prime minister sought to reassure the demonstrators, saying it was an issue on their radar.
