Ireland remain on course to defend their Six Nations title after edging out France 18-11 in Dublin.

Fly-half Johnny Sexton, who was making his return after a 12-week concussion lay-off, scored 15 points to make sure of the win while England survived an early scare to beat Italy at Twickenham.

Sergio Parisse scored an early try to put the visitors ahead but Stuart Lancaster’s men were quick to bounce back as Jonathan Joseph struck twice to guide his side to a 47-17 win on home soil.
