Three international ballet companies, the New York City Ballet, the Paris Opera Ballet and the Bolshoi Ballet, will all come together on the Lincoln Center stage in New York to celebrate the 50th anniversary of “Jewels”.

The ballet is by Russian-born dancer and choreographer George Balanchine, the co-founder of the New York City Ballet and Artistic Director for more than 35 years.

Director of the Bolshoi Ballet, Makhar Vaziev, said: “I can’t imagine who else, which name other than Balanchine, could have united together these three famous, renowned companies.”

Aurélie Dupont, Director of the Paris Opera Ballet added: “I think it’s about sharing, dancing all together and sharing our heritage. What we all learn in our school and in our company.”

The ballet “Jewels” by George Balanchine performed by the New York City Ballet, the Paris Opera Ballet and the Bolshoi Ballet runs at Lincoln Center in New York until Sunday 23rd July.
