Rebel groups have launched a widespread attack in Aleppo, according to the Syrian Army.

Government officials say they are “making the appropriate response to the sources of fire”.

They say groups, including the al Qaeda-linked Nusra Front, Ahrar al-Sham and Jaish al-Islam, are behind the attacks.

Another hospital bombarded

State media says at least three people have been killed and 17 wounded in a rocket attack on a hospital in the government-controlled district of Muhafaza.

How many people have been killed?

It is claimed more than 250 people have died in Aleppo in the last ten days alone, the majority of them civilians.

Two-thirds of those killed were in the rebel-held east side of the city.

50 people, the majority said to be women and children, died in an air strike on a hospital.

One of the remaining paediatricians working in Aleppo also died.
