Footage from Navas del Rey shows residents returning home after evacuation orders were lifted following devastating wildfires in central Spain.

Navas del Rey was among the worst-hit communities after flames reached the nearby Los Morros residential area. Residents returned to find destroyed outbuildings, damaged gardens and belongings reduced to ash, although some homes escaped the fire.
Mayor Jaime Peral said the return was both welcome and emotional, as many families faced the loss of places that had shaped their lives. Firefighters, backed by military emergency brigades and water-dropping aircraft, continued battling blazes elsewhere as Spain prepared for another heatwave and authorities warned that the wildfire risk remained high.
