Crews were seen clearing rubble and debris in Beirut’s southern suburbs following overnight Israeli strikes, according to footage from the scene.
Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported several strikes early Thursday, including two in the Hezbollah stronghold of south Beirut.
Israel’s military said it targeted command centres belonging to the Iran-backed Hezbollah group in the city after warning residents to evacuate parts of the suburbs.
There were no immediate reports of casualties from the strikes. The attacks come as fighting between Israel and Hezbollah escalates amid a wider regional conflict.
