The “Burabay Ice” race took place on the frozen surface of Burabay Lake, part of Burabay National Park in Kazakhstan.
Usually completely frozen in January and February, the lake hosted runners from eleven countries competing in 21, 14, and 7-kilometer distances.
The event was organized by the group Extreme Athletics. Organizers described it as their largest ice event so far, highlighting growing global interest in ice adventures.
Despite temperatures of minus 15 degrees Celsius and strong winds, the atmosphere remained cheerful throughout the race.
