Video. Stitching smiles: Caracas volunteers restore toys for Christmas cheer

Updated:

Venezuelan volunteers at the Plush Hospital repair and distribute toys, bringing Christmas joy to vulnerable children, a tradition that began with a teacher's kind gesture.

A group of volunteer seamstresses in Caracas, Venezuela, is repairing toys to bring Christmas cheer to poor and vulnerable children.

The Plush Hospital, founded in 2017, collects, restores, and gives out stuffed animals, toys, and educational games to those in need.

The project began when a teacher donated her children’s toys that had been left behind after they had emigrated. Her personal gesture has since grown into a foundation spreading joy to many families during the festive season.
