Protesters accused the Albanian Prime Minister's party of corruption, election manipulation and judicial interference, calling for a technocratic caretaker cabinet to take over until the 2025 elections.
The Democratic Party-led rally became tense as police deployed water cannons and tear gas to disperse the demonstrators. Clashes erupted near City Hall and Wilson Square, where activists blocked roads, chanting “Rama go away”.
While police worked to clear routes for ambulances and restore order, opposition leaders decried political arrests, insisting the protests symbolise Albanians’ growing revolt against alleged corruption.
