Video. No Comment: Volcano eruptions ground planes in Bali

Updated:

After a deadly eruption on 4 November, the Lewotobi Laki-Laki volcano in Indonesia began spewing thick columns of ash into the sky.

Many villagers had to flee their villages, which were covered in ash.

The first eruption killed nine people and injured dozens. Volcanic activity intensified this week, with smoke rising from the crater and columns of ash up to nine kilometres high.

The ongoing volcano eruption has prompted several airlines to cancel flights to and from Bali.

Authorities have extended the danger zone to nine kilometres around the volcano on the island of Flores, and airlines have offered refunds or rescheduling options to affected passengers.
