Violence broke out in Guatemala as voters went to the polls to elect a new president, vice president and members of Congress. 

Violence broke out in Guatemala as voters went to the polls to elect a new president, vice president and members of Congress. 

In José del Golfo, in central Guatemala, angry crowds clashed with security forces after some voters prevented a polling station from opening on Sunday.

Locals took action after they heard that people from another municipality were bused in to vote.
