A magnitude 6.7 earthquake hit the coast of north-central Chile on Saturday evening, the US Geological Survey said.
Authorities reported that 200,000 people were without power and two people had died of heart attacks.
The quake struck at 10.32 pm local time around 16km south-southwest of Coquimbo, the USGS said.
The quake occurred 53km below the surface, causing landslides du to the region's mountainous terrain.
