Silversea has teamed up with PerryGolf to launch a new collection of golf-focused cruises which combine onboard luxury with playing some of the world’s most iconic courses.

While themed cruises are by no means a new trend in travel, cruise operators around the world continue to expand their itineraries to entice potential passengers.

Niche and quirky examples that we’ve recently added to our travel bucket list include Game of Thrones cruises in Croatia and Formula 1-themed packages with MSC Cruises and its luxury brand Explora Journeys.

Another segment that’s caught our attention are wellness and active cruises. This growing trend has been embraced by a number of cruise lines, including Silversea, which has just announced a new collection of golf-focused voyages.

Launching in 2027 in partnership with international golf travel provider PerryGolf, the new voyages will grant golf-playing passengers access to some of the world’s most iconic courses, including:

  • Royal Liverpool Golf Club, England
  • Prince's Golf Club, England
  • Portstewart Golf Club – Strand Course, Northern Ireland
  • Cabot Highlands – Castle Stuart Golf Links, Scotland
  • Dumbarnie Links, Scotland
  • Camiral Stadium Course, Spain
  • Las Colinas Golf & Country Club, Spain
  • Son Gual Golf Mallorca, Spain
  • Club de Golf Alcanada, Spain
  • Tasmania Golf Club, Australia
  • Otago Golf Club, New Zealand
  • Royal Wellington Golf Club, New Zealand
  • Cape Kidnappers Golf Course, New Zealand
  • Kauri Cliffs Golf Course, New Zealand

"Silversea is built on giving guests access to experiences that go beyond what most travel can offer," said Bert Hernandez, President, Silversea. “Our partnership with PerryGolf extends that standard to golf – placing guests on some of the world's most celebrated courses, with every detail managed and every comfort included.”

Golf packages and voyages

As well as journeying aboard Silversea’s luxury ships, passengers will also get the chance to upgrade select voyages with curated golf programmes operated by PerryGolf.

Each golf cruise package will include perks such as guaranteed play with pre-arranged tee times and green fees, luxury transfers between the ship and the course, lunch and refreshments provided at each venue, and access to practice facilities and range balls at select courses.

Combining “legendary fairways with culturally rich destinations”, Silversea’s golf-focused voyages include a round-trip Southampton to Southampton sailing from 14-25 August 2027 which showcases the “best of the British Isles’ golfing heritage”.

Sailing onboard the Silver Spirit ship, guests will tee off at Royal Liverpool, a 13-time host venue of the Open Championship, before continuing to Prince’s Golf Club in Kent.

The journey then crosses to Northern Ireland for the dramatic dunes of Portstewart, before concluding in Scotland with rounds at Castle Stuart and Dumbarnie Links, two of the country’s most celebrated modern courses.

From 25 October to 3 November 2027, a Barcelona to Barcelona round-trip Mediterranean itinerary on Silver Ray will highlight continental Europe’s best golf courses. It begins at Camiral’s Stadium Course, a future host of the Ryder Cup, before continuing to Las Colinas on Spain’s southeastern coast. Golfers will then head to Mallorca to play Son Gual and Alcanada.

Perhaps the pick of the voyages – and the one that we’ll be adding to our golf travel bucket list – is a 14-day journey on Silver Moon which goes from Sydney to Auckland.

Sailing from 29 January to 12 February 2028, guests will explore world-class golf across Australia and New Zealand, starting at Tasmania Golf Club followed by the historic Otago Golf Club and Royal Wellington.

Passengers will then get to play two of the Southern Hemisphere’s most iconic cliffside courses – Cape Kidnappers and Kauri Cliffs.
