Dolphin

New Zealand has banned swimming with dolphins in its Bay of Islands waters.

Tests on some of the dolphins carried out by scientists at the University of Siena and the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale in Rome, show the dolphins were killed by cetacean morbillivirus (CeMV), the Tuscan regional authority announced on Tuesday.

Some 700 dolphins washed up dead on French beaches over the winter, figures reveal, most of them victims of the fishing industry.
